SGM Lawyer Appointed to Alberta Labour Relations Board
SGM's Lyle Kanee will be leaving the firm to accept an appointment as a part-time vice-chair of Alberta's Labour Relations Board. The appointment begins in August.
Prior to joining SGM in 2004, Lyle was the managing partner at a leading union-side labour law firm in Edmonton. He also taught labour law as a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta. At SGM, his practice included grievance arbitration, collective agreement negotiation, pension and benefit issues, human rights litigation, civil litigation and disability insurance claims. Lyle was also instrumental in organizing SGM's popular Laws and Bagels client seminars.
