Autism court fight tab $2.4M

The Toronto Sun quoted SGM’s Frank Addario in reporting that the Ontario government spent $2.4 million fighting a claim by parents of autistic children that the government should pay for intensive behavioural intervention. After losing a court fight in which it maintained that it did not have to disclose the amount of money it spent in the legal battle, the government revealed that the legal tab topped $2.4 million. Frank Addario, who represented MPP Shelly Martel in the legal action, is quoted as saying that the government treats public information as if it belongs to government, and not to the people who elect MPPs.
